Dandara achieved success in two hotly contested categories at the 2007 Daily Mail Property Awards 2007, with L’Hermitage Gardens in St Peter, Jersey being chosen as the UK's Best Retirement Development whilst the stunning V Building in the Heart of Birmingham was voted Best Development in the West Midlands

Dandara, one of the UK’s leading residential and commercial property developers, has only just received planning permission for The V Building in the heart of Birmingham but is already celebrating the development’s success in The Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2007.

Best Development

The V Building, a stunning scheme scheduled for completion in 2013 and comprising over 600 private residential apartments and 60 serviced suites along with premier restaurants, cocktail bars, a library, leisure space and a rooftop observatory, scooped the award for The Best Development in the West Midlands.

Eric Pickles MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, who chaired the judging panel, described the competition at this year’s awards as ‘extremely fierce’ and the judging as ‘very close.’

The judges who gave The V Building an excellent ‘five-star’ rating included Imtiaz Farookhi, CEO of the National House Building Council, Jeremy Leaf, Chairman of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Peter Bolton-King, CEO of the National Association of Estate Agents and Phil Spencer, presenter of Channel 4’s ‘Location’ and ‘Re-Location’ television programmes.

“We are delighted that, even at this early stage, The V Building is already receiving national recognition,” comments Michelle Harris, Dandara’s sales and marketing director, who collected the award from Eric Pickles at a glittering ceremony attended by legendary musician, Rick Wakeman. “This scheme is absolutely unique; not only will it be one of the country’s tallest all residential developments, it will offer so much more than just a place to live; it will be a destination for the people of Birmingham.”

L’Hermitage Gardens Also Wins Award

The V Building wasn’t Dandara’s only award success; L’Hermitage Gardens, an age-exclusive development of apartments and cottages set within tranquil landscaped gardens was selected as the Best Retirement Development, Jersey.
