Leeds has a population of 730,000 and a massive diversity in the city's economic structure means that, despite pre-conceptions, only 13% of the population work in manufacturing, with 24% working in finance and business, and 26% in public services.

Approximately 36,000 new jobs are on target for the next eight years alone, and there is a strong growth in tourism, leisure, retailing and city centre living.

Leeds also boasts two major universities and over 57,000 incumbent students in each academic year.
