With three major residential property schemes to be launched in Aberdeen this year, Dandara is looking to be a long-term contributor to the local economy.
“We recognise the region as having a unique and robust economy and we wish to contribute to that,” said Gavin Wyley, managing director of the award winning company’s operations in Aberdeen.
“We have had a presence in Aberdeen since 2008 and look forward to a long and successful future in the region,” he added. “We see Aberdeen as one of Britain’s most important centres for economic growth and development and are committed to being part of its continued growth and prosperity.”
New homes in Oakbank, Aberdeen
Mr Wyley was speaking as demolition work of the former boys’ Approved School at Oakbank in the West End of the city was completed, making way for work to begin on a development of 132 properties. Dandara is working with local developer Carlton Rock on a scheme, which will include detached executive homes, town houses and apartments. The first occupations are scheduled for summer 2012.
Significant employment
“The Oakbank development which has been named Oakhill Grange has a contract sum of over £19m and one which will create significant employment and we are already recruiting for various positions,” said Mr Wyley.
“It is a low density, sensitive scheme with granite reused in a development which is designed with large areas of green space and the retention of existing mature trees. Dandara worked closely with Aberdeen City Council to create a scheme to complement what is a unique site in the heart of Aberdeen’s West End.”

Development, subject to planning permission, is due to start in 2012 and will be phased over a five-year period.
