Portelet Bay, Jersey wins it's 6th Award

In the past thirteen months Dandara’s stunning coastal Portelet Bay development at St. Brelade, Jersey has won no fewer than six awards.

The Annual Daily Mail Awards saw Portelet winning ‘Best UK Architecture' in October 2009 with two What House? Awards following in November 2009 for 'Best House' and 'Best Interior Layout'.

The show apartment designer, Honky Interior Architecture & Design picked up an award at the 2010 International Design & Architecture Awards for the design of the show apartment and was also awarded five stars for Best Interior Design at the UK Residential Property Awards. Now the project has been recognised in the Premier Guarantee Excellence awards which are designed to reward the very best of the UK housing market.

Portelet displayed quality and excellence in construction

First held in 2008, the Premier Guarantee Awards have fast become one of the largest awards events in the house building calendar. This year, from over 2,000 eligible developments (all insured by Premier Guarantee), 126 sites were shortlisted to enter the 11 categories of the Awards. Each shortlisted site was visited by a member of our judging panel, and was scored across a range of criteria to determine this year’s winners.

Entrants needed to be able to display excellence in technical competency, coupled with an ability to demonstrate first-rate project management skills and high levels of quality and customer service. Premier Guarantee’s judges decided that Dandara's development at Portelet displayed all these attributes and more, leading it to being awarded the title of Regional Winner in the category.

Awards judge Mike Swatton who carried out the site visit at Portelet, commented:

“In the face of one of the most challenging site locations we've seen in this year's awards, Portelet displayed quality and excellence in construction and finishing which ensured it a place on our winner's list. Attention to detail is obviously at the heart of what Dandara do, and this was reflected in the high quality workmanship displayed on site. The management of the site was also excellent, and the consistently high standards achieved by the site staff was a testament to the great work Dandara undertake in the house building industry”.
