Dandara’s Spectrum development has been crowned
as the ‘Best Living Space’ at the MCR Awards 2007.
As voted for by local people from across the region, Spectrum,
located on Blackfriars Road, was considered to be the cream of the crop
when it comes to calling somewhere your home. Its impressive exterior,
with full-length balconies angled to maximise light, fantastic views
through the floor to ceiling windows and extensive landscaped communal
courtyards were not the only factors that impressed the public.
The development’s pioneering approach to internal living space is
what sets it apart; Dandara has created a ‘Concept’ style apartment with
does away with the traditional hallway, creating open plan entrances and
a larger and more usable living space. The result is an airy and
spacious loft style apartment with a well thought out layout and design.

Competition from other city centre developments was high but
Dandara secured more votes than Abito by Ask Developments, Great
Northern Tower by Wimpey, Leftbank by Persimmon, Royal Mills by ING and
Skyline Central by West Properties.
Peter Lackey, managing director for Dandara Ltd, was presented
with the award by Ian Thomlinson, Residential Director from Jones Lang
LaSalle at Manchester’s prestigious Hilton Hotel. Speaking at the awards
ceremony, Peter said: “We are genuinely delighted with winning this
award, especially as it is voted for by the public. We are continually
looking at ways to create the best possible environments – both
externally and internally – for our customers and will continue to
invest in product development and design.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in
making Spectrum a resounding success, including award-winning architects
OMI, and also our own teams in construction, sales and marketing”.
The awards, which are in its second year, celebrate and recognise
all the best things about Manchester, from its bars and clubs to its
famous personalities and landmark buildings.
