Dandara begins construction on new homes coming to Kent village this summer

Dandara South East officially commenced construction on the first homes at its latest development, Fortuna Fields in Wingham, Kent.

The collection of 71 homes will feature a mix of two three-, four- and five-bedroom homes which will appeal to a wide range of buyers. Fortuna Fields is located in the idyllic rural village of Wingham, yet still conveniently positioned only a 30-minute drive from the Kent coastline, and 20 minutes from the larger town of Canterbury.

Whether a first-time buyer, second stepper or downsizer, the homes feature spacious open plan layouts, providing plenty of adaptable living space for buyers to make their own. Each home has been designed to make moving as easy as possible, all fitted with high specification kitchens, modern appliances and contemporary bathrooms.

David Garrett, Managing Director of Dandara South East comments “Fortuna Fields will provide an excellent opportunity for buyers looking for the best of all worlds. Set within a quintessential countryside village, with easy links to the historic city of Canterbury, all while being nearby to the scenic South East Coast.

“By investing £1,139,320 in S106 contributions to both Dover District Council and Kent County Council, Dandara will help deliver improvements to local infrastructure and services including adult and youth recreation, education and NHS services.”

Aspiring residents can also feel confident they will be settling into a vibrant established community, that will continue to benefit from Dandara’s support as we build homes in the area.”

Situated in between Canterbury and Sandwich, Wingham is a quaint village with history dating back to the Stone Age, boasting almost 98 grade listed buildings. With several independent restaurants, shops and pubs, the village is home to a lively local community that hosts a weekly health walk, the annual Wingham Summer Rodeo and a monthly farmers market.

For family days out, Wingham’s largest attraction, Wingham Wildlife Park is just under a mile from Fortuna Fields, a family-owned park hosting the largest number of animal species out of all wildlife parks and zoos in Kent. Meanwhile, Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve is also just a 13-minute drive from the development, ideal for countryside walks.

Buyers will be surrounded by green space, whilst also being in easy reach of the capital, with Adisham station only a seven-minute drive from the development, offering regular trains into London Victoria in one hour and 45 minutes. For drivers, Fortuna Fields will have easy access to the A257, reaching Canterbury in 20 minutes, and Central London in under two hours via the M2.
