Dandara East Scotland is celebrating the upcoming launch of its new Pinkhill Gate development near the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s (RZSS) Edinburgh Zoo by sponsoring two of the wildlife conservation charity’s most famous residents – giant pandas Yang Guang and Tian Tian.
The housebuilder is contributing £1,500 as part of the RZSS corporate partnerships programme, which will support work to save wildlife and empower people in Scotland and around the world to protect, value and love nature.
Rebecca Milne, Development Manager at RZSS said: “We are delighted to welcome Dandara on board as silver corporate partners for our charity. With more than a million species at risk of extinction, nature needs us all to act now.
“Support from individuals and companies like Dandara has never been more important and we hope that new residents at Pinkhill Gate will come to visit Yang Guang and Tian Tian at Edinburgh Zoo and enjoy the mental and physical health and wellbeing benefits of being close to nature.”
Lisa Archibald, Head of Sales at Dandara East Scotland, said: “It’s a real honour for Dandara to become a silver corporate partner with RZSS and adopt the giant pandas before their return to China at the end of next year. We are very excited to be building in this vibrant area of Edinburgh which has so much to offer residents with easy access to the city centre and international attractions like the zoo and Murrayfield Stadium.”
Work is now underway on the development which is just a nine minute walk from the zoo and will feature a stylish range of 46 contemporary 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments including an exclusive penthouse property. Of these, 11 will be affordable homes.
The first homes will be available for reservation early next year, with the first properties ready for occupation in the Summer.
Internally, the apartment interiors will boast modern layouts and stylish finishes, while retaining a timelessness well suited to being a part of Scotland’s most historical city.
Murrayfield Stadium, the centre for the Scottish Rugby Union, is just over a mile away offering world class rugby matches including the Guinness Six Nations, along with concerts from some of the globe’s top artists and bands.
The development is nestled between some of West Edinburgh’s finest green spaces such as Saughton Rose Garden and Corstorphine Hill and is a short walk from the picturesque Water of Leith walkway. The apartments are also close to high-ranking schools and educational establishments like The Mary Erskine School and St George’s Nursery School.
Walking around the area, buyers will encounter breath-taking 200-year-old Georgian houses, some of the finest in Edinburgh and great local restaurants like Dine Murrayfield, which is nestled on the banks of the Water of Leith.
