Just in time for summer adventures, pupils at Felsted Primary School are set to make the most of their outdoor playtime with engaging new playground additions. This is thanks to a donation from local housebuilder Dandara, who is currently building new homes nearby at The Orchard development in Little Dunmow.
Outdoor learning and play are central to Felsted Primary School’s approach to nurturing the all-round development of its pupils. As part of the Uttlesford School Sports Partnership (USSP), the school strives to provide varied opportunities for pupils to grow both physically and socially[1].
To support the school’s continued commitment, Dandara has funded a new activity trail playground marking, which will be available for all pupils to enjoy during playtimes and lunchtimes. From Reception through to Year 6, every child at Felsted Primary School will benefit from the upgraded outdoor space — giving them more opportunities to climb, run, and spark their imaginations as they play.
Gemma Bannister, Sales Director at Dandara Eastern, commented: “Building brighter futures starts with giving children the freedom to learn and grow outside of the classroom. This is why we are incredibly proud to back Felsted Primary School’s commitment to outdoor learning and all-round development. It is inspiring to see a school so dedicated to giving pupils space to grow, play, and thrive. We hope the new trail brings lots of enjoyment and helps spark a lifelong love for the outdoors.”
Michele Layzell, Business Manager at Felsted Primary School, added: “Outdoor play is a vital part of our school day, helping children to stay active, build friendships, and develop important life skills. Upgrading and maintaining such spaces is key, and we are grateful to Dandara for their generous support to fund our new trail playground markings. The new activity trail will be a fantastic addition for all our pupils, and we are excited to see it in use.”
