At the recent Unlocking Sustainable Growth Across South Oxfordshire roundtable at Milton Park, we joined representatives from local government, business, development and property sectors to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the region’s future.
Facilitated by Meeting Place, discussion focused on some of South Oxfordshire’s most pressing issues, including housing affordability, skills provision, infrastructure, healthcare and climate resilience. Delegates explored how collaboration across sectors can help unlock growth and deliver positive outcomes for local communities.
Dandara contributed insights on how strategic development can deliver long-term social value – from creating affordable homes and supporting education and employment pathways, to investing in community wellbeing and youth initiatives, enhancing biodiversity, and promoting sustainable transport.
“Events like this are invaluable in bringing together different perspectives to help tackle the challenges facing South Oxfordshire. By working collaboratively, we can ensure that growth not only meets housing demand but also delivers real benefits for local people – from affordable homes and sustainable transport to opportunities for education, employment and community wellbeing – helping create places that thrive in the long term.” Rachel Allwood, Planning Director at Dandara
The session ended with clear next steps for collaboration. We look forward to continuing the conversation with local councils, partners and communities to make sure growth in South Oxfordshire brings real benefits for the people who live and work here.
