Independent housebuilder Dandara has continued its partnership with Carway Primary School with a donation of soil to further support its vegetable patches in the outdoor garden space, located opposite to its Golwg Gwendraeth development in Carway.
Having previously donated gardening kits to Carway Primary School, the soil donation from Dandara will support the pupils in completing the raised beds in the garden and provide an opportunity for the children to participate in outdoor learning activities during the summer months.
Lisa Lloyd, Year 2 & 3 Teacher at Carway Primary School, commented: “With Dandara’s previous donation of gardening tools, the pupils have been equipped to help take care of the garden space. The soil will allow us to prep the raised beds before adding compost – then we can expand our vegetable patch for the children to harvest and cook in the new term. A key part of our summer curriculum is to include as much outdoor leaning as possible, and the donation from Dandara has made that happen.”
Sara Taylor, Sales Director at Dandara Wales & West, said: “It is really rewarding to be able to continue our partnership with Carway Primary School as we help them develop their garden space. Outdoor learning is an essential part of children’s development and the skills taught will be crucial throughout their lifetime. We are proud to be able to offer support and assistance in helping the pupils expand their life-skill set and produce colourful gardens in the process!”
