Independent housebuilder Dandara has recently launched two new show homes at its brand new development The Orchard in Little Dunmow. The development currently comprises one-to-five-bedroom homes set in the charming Essex village of Little Dunmow.
Prospective movers have a chance to look around the new show homes which have coincided with the developments official launch in January. Designed by Joanne Davies-Jones from interior design agency Abode, The Goodwood and The Woburn four-bedroom show homes feature furnishings made from sustainably sourced materials incorporating a classic design whilst reflecting the feel of the Essex countryside.
Both show homes are designed to appeal to families to demonstrate the wider lifestyle on offer at The Orchard. The Goodwood offers a countryside feel offering a plethora of textures and a mixture of light and dark woods. The colours throughout the show present earthy and neutral tones including navy, greens, and auburn to create that modern classic country look and to bring the outside ‘in’. Wood panelling has been used as a sustainable element, as well as low energy light bulbs. On the second floor, the children’s rooms include themes of birds, planes and horses.
The Woburn, also a four-bedroom home, incorporates a contemporary scandal design with colours of blues, creams, whites, navy, greens, burgundy reds and oak throughout. Split over two levels, the show home has been designed to maximise and create separate living zones featuring a lounge, kitchen/diner and a utility room. The home includes use of sustainable and ecofriendly fabrics too which have been individually hand crafted. Running throughout the home is a theme of modern country and farm vehicles, again to reflect the countryside setting of the development.
Joanne Davies-Jones, Interior Designer at Abode, commented: “It is always exciting working on new show homes as creatives, however, our designs at The Orchard have been notably special for the team and I. As it is a new year, we wanted to incorporate fresh ideas for 2025 and keep the local area at the heart of the designs. Within both show homes we have let our creativity flair, with our personal highlights being the bold mix of colours and countryside themes. Every last detail has been thought of carefully and with sustainability in mind, demonstrating that bigger family homes can also be environmentally responsible.”
Gemma Bannister, Sales Director at Dandara Eastern, adds: “Our homes at The Orchard have all been designed with family living in mind. We are building a community here in Little Dunmow and we feel these show homes encapsulate a real glimpse into what life can look like for those looking to move here. It is always fantastic working with Abode on these special projects and seeing the journey from mood board to instillation. For anyone looking for a new home this year we strongly urge you to come a view these beautiful new show homes on-site.”
Located minutes from the heart of Little Dunmow, The Orchard provides proximity to a number of primary, secondary and independent schools, as well as shopping and dining on the high street in Great Dunmow. Families will enjoy the nearby leisure centre, and for those looking to take in the Essex countryside, the Flitch Way Country Park is accessible via a footway adjacent to the development.
The site is also close to a number of transport links, including the Braintree railway station and A120, which connects Little Dunmow with the nearby towns of Braintree and Bishop’s Stortford and Stansted Airport is less than 10 miles away.
