Elsenham Youth Football Club were jumping for joy last weekend, as independent housebuilder Dandara, who is building homes at its Millers View development in Elsenham, helped celebrate the club’s Award Ceremony as it sponsored three bouncy castles for the family fun day.
The event saw Elsenham Youth Football Club’s 21 teams celebrate their achievements from the season whilst fundraising for equipment. Hosted at Elsenham’s recreation ground, the Presentation Day included bouncy castles, food stalls, music and games and was attended by over 400 people, from family, friends and local supporters of Elsenham Youth Football Club.
Founded in 2000, Elsenham Youth Football Club was created by four local dads in the village giving young aspiring footballers the chance to play matches at all ages. From 50 players attending its first session, the club is now home to over 400 members.
Michelle Smailes, Social Committee Chair of Elsenham Youth Football Club commented: “The Presentation Day is a great opportunity for our teams to come together and celebrate their wins from the season. This year we were lucky enough to host a screen to showcase the England Euros match against Switzerland. It was a great turn out from all the community, and the sponsored bouncy castles went down a treat with all the players – so a huge thank you to Dandara!”
Gemma Bannister, Head of Sales at Dandara Eastern, commented: “It is great to be able to support local clubs in the area with their sporting achievements! We hope the day was full of fun – celebrating the players individual wins as well as watching England in the Euros! The Presentation Day highlights just how important the Elsenham community is, and we are proud to be a part of it!”
