Four-Bedroom Homes Prove Popular In Crowborough As Demand Holds Steady

A range of four-bedroom houses is attracting attention at independent housebuilder Dandara’s Braeburn Fields development in Crowborough, as local appetite for family homes remains strong despite wider market uncertainty.

Located on the northern edge of the town in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Braeburn Fields has seen steady sales since launching, with the four-bedroom homes meeting increased demand for flexible layouts, energy efficiency and more space. Dandara, which has built over 10,000 homes across the UK, is continuing to expand its South East portfolio with developments in East Sussex, Kent and Hampshire.

Recent data suggests that interest in new-build family homes is holding up across the South East, even as the wider market slows with reports showing a 3.7% annual rise in house prices to June 2025[1], while Nationwide’s latest outlook points to modest annual growth of around 2% to 4%[2], underpinned by a shortage of homes and improving consumer confidence. In East Sussex specifically, the number of new-build completions remains low, with fewer than 2,100 homes delivered last year – highlighting the ongoing supply-demand imbalance in the region[3].

The new four-bedroom design is aimed at growing families, offering an open-plan kitchen and dining area, a spacious living room and private garden. The home also includes energy-saving features and a high EPC rating, with the aim of keeping bills down and performance high.

Alexander Dowling, Sales Director at Dandara South East, said: “What we’re seeing is that people still want to move – especially families who need more space, or buyers looking for something newer and more efficient. This layout gives them that flexibility. It’s a really practical home that works for everyday life but also feels like a long-term investment. Crowborough offers that rare mix of countryside and convenience, and we’re proud to be delivering homes here that reflect the needs of the community.”

Despite higher interest rates and ongoing affordability challenges, buyer sentiment in the region appears to be improving. According to the Office for Budget Responsibility, house price growth is expected to average 2.8% in 2025, with a more stable lending environment helping to support activity[4].
