From Homes To Hearts: Dandara Support Cardiff Foodbank With Christmas Donation

Independent housebuilder Dandara is supporting the Cardiff community this Christmas with a £500 donation to Cardiff Foodbank to go towards its essential food supply packages, for local people in need this Christmas.

This year, Trussell's UK-wide Foodbank community distributed more than 3.1 million emergency food parcels to people facing hardship, a 94% increase over the past five years . With the winter season bringing heightened demands, supporting local foodbanks is more vital than ever.

To lend a helping hand to the community, Dandara, who is building nearby at Sant Silian, has donated £500 towards Cardiff Foodbank which will be used to support its provision of emergency food parcels and provide 25 people with food packages. These contain three days’ worth of essential meals for anyone in need.

Sara Taylor, Sales Director at Dandara Wales & West, commented: “As we enter the Christmas period, it is vital we support the foodbanks in the community we build in. No one should sleep hungry, especially during the colder months, and we are passionate about supporting the organisations who make a difference in our community. We are proud to support Cardiff Foodbank, who have worked so hard this winter to ensure everyone can enjoy a warm and nourishing holiday.”

Rachel Biggs, Cardiff Foodbank CEO, adds: “Since opening fifteen years ago, we have seen a significant increase in the need for emergency food provision at the food bank. We want to ensure that local people in financial crisis have a place to come when they are in need, to receive emergency food as well as a listening ear and support. We are grateful for the donation from Dandara as it supports people in need across Cardiff this Christmas.”
