On your marks, get set, go! Dandara 10k races ahead
We are proud to continue our support of the Dandara 10K which will be held on Sunday, 24th May 2024 in Inverurie in Aberdeenshire.
The annual festival of running will also include 5K and Half-Marathon distance events, three children’s runs and a bustling event village.
Dandara became the first sponsors of the festival’s 5K race when it was launched in 2013, taking over sponsorship of its flagship 10K race when it became available in 2014. It is a major fundraiser for the town’s Garioch Sports Centre.
Starting and finishing at the Garioch Sports Centre, the festival – which began life as the ‘Garioch 10K’ – has been part of Inverurie’s community calendar since 2006. Last year’s event was a big hit with more than 2,000 runners taking part and thousands of pounds raised for local charities, including Clan Cancer Support and Inspire.
Entries are set to go live for the 2024 festival in early September, with information now available from www.rungarioch.co.uk. People who are interested in volunteering on the day should contact info@rungarioch.co.uk.
Claire Bathgate, Head of Sales at Dandara Aberdeen, commented: “It was really inspiring to see so many runners of all ages and abilities taking part last year and it is great to once again be able to support this landmark community event. Last year’s event was the greenest yet with bamboo medals and all route and race generated waste being recycled, which aligns with Dandara’s ambitions and commitment to building a sustainable future.”
