Elsenham Youth Football Club has received a new sideline support as independent housebuilder Dandara, who are building homes at its Millers View development in Elsenham, has become the Soccer Tots sponsor for the next two years.
Elsenham Youth Football Club’s Soccer Tots is a non-league-based team consisting of 45 players aged from 3 - 6 years old and is the initial development program into football for many of the players at the club. The Soccer Tots program is focused on development of the youngest players with skills training and games organised with other local tots teams throughout the season. The housebuilder has sponsored their team shirts for the next 2 seasons.
Founded in 2000, Elsenham Youth Football Club was created by four local dads in the village giving young aspiring footballers the chance to play matches at all ages. From 50 players attending its first session, the club is now home to over 450 members across 21 teams (which includes a FA Wildcats program for girls). The club are also taking their first steps into adult football from the 2024/2025 season with 2 men’s teams entering the Cambridge County leagues.
Ricky Lambourne, Chairman of Elsenham Youth Football Club commented: “I’m delighted a reputable local house builder such as Dandara is supporting our Soccer Tots program for the next 2 seasons. The football club was created to give players of all ages and levels from local communities the chance to enjoy the sport and compete against other likeminded sportspeople and to make new friends. The Soccer Tots program is fundamental to the club and is crucial for our youngest players to give them a positive first experience of the club, an initial glimpse at grassroots football and to also provide an encouraging learning environment whilst making new friends. Players across the club love wearing their Elsenham kit and to have a name such as Dandara on the soccer tot shirt will only improve the young player experience. It’s a great way for the players to come together as a team with their shirts showcasing support from local businesses.”
Gemma Bannister, Head of Sales at Dandara Eastern, commented: “At Dandara, we pride ourselves on building relationships with the local community and this sponsorship is just that. We are delighted to be supporting the younger players with its upcoming season and look forward to seeing the tots play in their new kits!”
