The annual Biddenham Show returns on Sunday the 10th of September and will once again be receiving support from housebuilder Dandara, who is currently building new homes at its Saxon Park development nearby.
The housebuilder will be sponsoring this year’s circus skills workshop, which has proven to be a firm favourite with locals. Children have the chance to experiment with juggling, unicycles, spinning plates and more during the historic village show.
A more than 150-year-old tradition, the Biddenham Show continues to bring the community together by offering local crafts and produce, along with activities such as a dog show, fancy dress parade and musical entertainment. The Show is held on the field of St James VA Primary School, Main Road between 12 noon and 4pm.
While retaining the charm of a traditional village show, the Biddenham Show also has a competitive side, presenting residents with the opportunity to participate in various judged events. From the Biddenham Bake Off to the flower and plants competition, plenty of trophies are up for grabs on the day.
Surplus funds raised at the show are distributed amongst local schools and organisations in the area, and in 2022 donations were made to Biddenham International School, St James School, Bedford Food Bank, the Biddenham Gardeners Association, St James Church, the Under 5’s, the Friends of Biddenham Village Pond and local Ukrainian Refugees.
Jane Knight, one of Biddenham Show’s committee members, commented: “It’s great to see the people of Biddenham come together to support their community and keep alive the spirit of such an important event in our village’s history”.
“The circus skills workshop always goes down a treat with the youngsters in the village, so it was wonderful that Dandara was able to sponsor it this year to ensure we could offer this exciting activity to the children again.”
Rachel Lindop, Head of Sales at Dandara Northern Home Counties, said “It’s always a pleasure to give our support to the Biddenham Show and we were delighted to sponsor the circus skills workshop this year. We hope that everyone has a brilliant day and hope the children enjoy taking part in the workshop – they may even be tempted to run off to the circus!”
A collection of two, three, four and five bedroom new homes are currently available at Saxon Park, starting at £425,000 for a three-bedroom home.
