Dandara launches homes off-plan in Sharnbrook to meet increasing buyer demand

Independent housebuilder Dandara has just launched a brand-new range of homes off-plan in Sharnbrook – one of the 12 neighbourhoods in Bedford that saw an increase in property interest and a hike in house prices last year.* The Oaks development, located on Yelnow Lane, just 9 miles north of the lively Bedford town, offers a versatile range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes.

Launched off-plan in January, the development will include 51 homes, of which 30% will be affordable. The homes are expected to be ready to move into by Summer 2022, and will sit on generously sized plots, with airy open-plan living spaces, spacious gardens and a garage or parking space.

As buyers’ priorities have changed due to Covid-19, many seek to make the move out of cities and into villages where they can make the most of their time outside of work. Interest in the development so far has come from couples, young and established families, as well as downsizers.

The Oaks is set in the picturesque village of Sharnbrook, with plenty of green space within and surrounding the development. Perfect for families, there are a range of excellent schools in the area from nurseries to sixth forms.

Simon Pendlebury, Sales and Marketing Director for Dandara Northern Home Counties, commented: “The Oaks will offer growing families the perfect opportunity to upsize whilst also giving local first time buyers the opportunity to get onto the property ladder as many of our homes available with Help to Buy.

“We’ve had a number of homes reserved as homebuyers want to take advantage of the great value for money these homes offer. Sharnbrook is a great location that benefits from Ofsted rated Outstanding schools and easy access to fantastic cities like London and Brighton so we only expect this initial momentum to grow.”

Excellent road links are available from the development, with easy access to A6 for journeys to Bedford, Luton and Kettering. Northampton can be reached via the A45 and Cambridge via the A14. Bedford town train station offers services to Brighton, Corby, Gatwick Airport and London St Pancras.
