Dandara spreads holiday cheer with wreath giving to local charity
Members at WADE Day Care Centre are getting in the Christmas spirit thanks to a donation of wreath making kits from local housebuilder Dandara, who is building new homes nearby at its Oakwood Place development in Spencers Wood.
WADE Day Care Centre is a community-driven charity dedicated to providing vital support for individuals aged sixty and above in Wokingham and its neighbouring areas. The centre serves as a welcoming haven, offering a conducive environment for members to connect socially, enjoy nutritious meals, and take part in engaging activities.
Philip Mirfin, Chairman of Trustee’s for WADE Day Care Centre, commented: “At WADE, we believe in the power of community and the positive impact it can have on the well-being of our elderly members. Dandara's generosity has enabled us to provide a meaningful activity that we’re sure will contribute to our members overall health and happiness. They had a great time and made some amazing festive wreaths!”
Zoey Rampton, Senior Sales Manager at Dandara Southern, said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to contribute to WADE Day Care Centre and support their mission of providing essential services for seniors in Wokingham. It is inspiring to witness the positive impact that their programs have on the well-being of the elderly. We are so glad that the members enjoyed making their own festive wreaths!”
Located in the village of Spencers Wood, Oakwood Place is close to a number of primary and secondary schools, including Lambs Lane Primary School, as well as plenty of amenities such as shops, bakeries and doctors. The recently built Spencers Wood Pavilion is home to Chapel Lane Pre-school and hosts a number of activities for locals, including a Youth Club and dance classes.
There are three railway stations within just four miles of the development – Earley, Mortimer and Reading West Station.
