Dandara to launch first sustainable show home in Crowborough

Dandara South East is launching a new sustainable show home in Pearmain Place in Crowborough in East Sussex, close to Ashdown Forest which inspired A.A.Milne’s classic adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

The four bedroom Chartwell is being unveiled on the 18th and 19th of November from 10am-5pm. The show home is filled with inspiration on how to live in a more environmentally friendly way with bamboo, cork and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood used in the interior design.

Potential buyers are being invited to tour the Chartwell and a new three bedroom Gosford show home and enjoy some complimentary refreshments including a hog roast and warming drinks, perfect for the colder weather.

Dandara’s experienced sales consultants will be on hand to provide information and buyers who reserve a new home or sign up to Dandara’s Moving Made Easy Scheme during the launch weekend will have a chance to spin the prize wheel, with the top prize being £5,000 cash back on completion.

Stuart Galloway, Head of Sales for Dandara South East, said: “The show home has been designed to demonstrate that new homes can be both beautiful and sustainable at the same time – that one doesn’t have to be at the expense of the other.

“The designers have done an incredible job in using upcycled materials throughout the home with the living room shelf and stool in one of the bedrooms being repurposed from scaffolding boards. Sustainable practices were also considered during the design process, with 360 degree recycling in place and limited deliveries being made from suppliers.

“Buyers here are surrounded by the beauty of nature and that is why it is such a fitting location for our sustainable show home. Spending time in this part of the world is the perfect antidote to the stress of everyday life.”

Bounded by hedgerows, trees and woodland, the new Chartwell show home has been designed to incorporate natural materials where possible, and reclaimed products used throughout the property. For example, in the large open plan/kitchen/dining and family room, there is sofa fabric that is made of recycled cotton and a coffee table made from FSC certified wood.

Upstairs there are four double bedrooms with the main bedroom featuring an ensuite, a separate family bathroom and additional storage provision.

The three bedroom Gosford show home has a spacious dual-aspect living room and open plan kitchen dining room with French doors to the garden. There is also a separate utility room with a large store cupboard and a separate cloakroom on the ground floor. Upstairs, bedroom one has its own ensuite shower room. There are a further two double bedrooms and a stylish family bedroom.

Set to be popular with homebuyers, Pearmain Place will feature a range of three, four and five bedroom homes when complete with prices currently starting from £435,000. Many of the plots are available with Dandara’s Moving Made Easy Scheme. With Moving Made Easy Dandara can help arrange to sell buyers’ existing properties and pay estate agents fees as well. Unlike many similar schemes – buyers don’t have to be moving to a larger property, Dandara will also assist downsizers and side-steppers too.

Dandara will also be releasing prices at the event for its nearby development in Crowborough, Braeburn Fields. To find out more go to https://www.dandara.com/new-homes-for-sale/east-sussex/braeburn-fields/

Both developments are ideally located for commuters, close to the A26, 8 miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells and 33 miles south of London. For those who love the seaside, Eastbourne is around a 26 mile drive away.

It is only a short drive to Crowborough train station, which serves the area with regular services to Uckfield and London. Crowborough itself has a wide range of local independent shops, restaurants, a Waitrose and a Sainsbury’s local, a post office, health centre and a range of primary and secondary schools. There’s lots to do for sports lovers with a popular leisure centre with swimming pool, Crowborough Beacon Golf Club and local football and running clubs.

Ashdown Forest is minutes away from the development, with more than 6,500 acres of ancient heathland to explore and is home to rare species of wildlife and plants. A.A. Milne lived on the edge of the forest and wrote stories about his explorations with his young son, Christopher Robin. Walshes Park is also close-by. Find out more
