Independent housebuilder Dandara has just secured planning approval for its new development named The Meadows in Wymeswold, Leicestershire which was recently listed as one of the best places to live in the UK *.
Planning consent has just been granted by Charnwood Borough Council for The Meadows following Dandara’s the acquisition of the 9.9 acre site on East Road in April. The development will deliver 65 new two, three, four and five-bedroom family homes of which 26 will be affordable.
The development will see £205,097 towards education, healthcare, highways, libraries, and outdoor sport as part of S106 contributions, with construction expected to start in January and first completions in Summer/Autumn 2023.
Rachel Lindop, Head of Sales at Dandara Northern Home Counties commented: “This planning approval is a big step for us as a region as it marks our expansion into Leicestershire. It has been fantastic to work with Charnwood Borough Council on this scheme to ensure we can deliver versatile homes to suit a range of buyers and help meet housing demand in the area. We are looking forward to commencing the building process early next year and becoming part of this community.”
The development will also include an on-site play area, the creation of two new ponds and at least 1.14ha of open space.
Situated in the village of Wymeswold, The Meadows has a range of amenities within walking distance, including a shop for groceries, the Windmill Inn pub and a pharmacy. The development is also close to the A46, providing easy access to Leicester and Nottingham.
The countryside location is ideal for those that love the outdoors, with Bunny Old Wood and Ruddington’s Rushcliffe Country Park within easy reach and perfect for walks. Families will also have access to Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Wymeswold Primary School, and, for young adults, Loughborough University is just a short drive away.
The Meadows is set to launch off-plan in early 2023.
