Ready, Set, Grow: Dandara donates gardening kits to local school in Elsenham

In celebration of Gardening Week, hosted from Monday 29th April to Sunday 5th May 2024, independent housebuilder Dandara has donated three gardening equipment kits to Elsenham C of E Primary School as part of its campaign to celebrate gardening.

This year’s gardening week theme, ‘Knowledge is Flower’ aims to raise awareness of the difference that gardening can make in the lives of everyone, helping to inspire the next generation of gardeners to experience the joy of creating and growing green spaces.

The donation will provide valuable support in enhancing the Elsenham Primary School’s gardens, encouraging pupils to participate in outdoor activities and engage in a meaningful project as the warmer months approach.

Stacey McCraith, Deputy Headteacher at Elsenham C. of E. Primary School, commented: “At Elsenham Primary School, we aim to cover a wide range of important topics and fun activities as part of our outdoor learning, so it’s brilliant to receive the gardening kits. This will help to teach the children effectively, but also to demonstrate the impact that gardening can have. We are keen to expand our garden space and the kits are really helpful in making it happen. Our pupils (and staff!) are excited to utilise them and we are all looking forward to seeing the end result.”

Gemma Bannister, Head of Sales at Dandara Eastern commented: “We’re pleased to support Elsenham Primary School and provide resources to help pupils learn about the importance of gardening. As strong supporters of the local community and looking after your own wellbeing, we want to encourage young people to learn about the positive impacts of gardening both for your surroundings and own health. The kits are a brilliant way to help people get outside as much as possible as the weather gets nicer, and we’re looking forward to seeing the pupils use their new tools to help their outdoor space blossom.”
